A Story Worth SharingIn early January 2008 an article featuring author Kim MacGregor and the book Be…a Woman: expressions of life, generated this heartfelt response from one reader: Kim, I read the review yesterday and went to your site. I was touched on a number of fronts. I just lost my wife to colon cancer and I must tell you she had amazing inner beauty, like no one I have ever met or known. She was the most amazing person in so many ways, inner beauty being just one. Thank you for what you are doing.J. Elliott Kerr
President Landmark Sport Group, Inc. Touched by this message, Kim wanted to know more about Elliott Kerr and his wife Jane Rogers. “For three days after I received his note, I couldn’t stop thinking about the sincerity and love this man had for his wife, “ Kim said. “When I learned Jane had left behind twin babies, under two-years of age, my heart broke. Both Arline and I lost our amazing mother’s to colon cancer and I have a beautiful set of twin daughters. This was more than coincidence - we knew we had to get involved.” Within two weeks, Kim met with Elliott to learn more about Jane – her life and her legacy. She offered to help raise money for colon cancer in Jane’s honor, through a golf tournament Elliott had put together just three months after Jane passed away, The Jane Rogers Championship. During their emotional meeting the idea to get involved in the Mississauga Marathon that takes place over Mother’s Day was an obvious opportunity. With a $10.00 donation to colon cancer research from the sale of each book – they could raise a significant amount of research dollars and celebrate the beauty of all amazing mother’s. Life truly is about connection, love, and the beautiful expressions of life we experience everyday. One life can touch so many! We can make this a Mother’s Day worth celebrating on many levels!
